The LAGRANGE laboratory is a joint research unit (UMR 7293) depending on three agencies: the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), Observatoire de la Côte d’Azur (OCA) and the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis (UNS).
The LAGRANGE laboratory carries out multidisciplinary research activities in the field of astrophysics, fluid dynamics and plasmas, and signal processing. Main research themes include the formation and evolution of planetary systems: physical and dynamic properties, observations and characterization; solar and stellar physics: internal structure, atmosphere and environment; physics of galaxies and cosmology: large structures, formation and evolution of galaxies, galactic archaeology; signal processing, image reconstruction, optimal data representation data; non-linear dynamics: turbulence in fluids and plasmas, transport processes. This research is supported and enabled by unique skills in instrumentation (differential interferometry, advanced imaging interferometry and high contrast imaging, atmospheric optics) and high performance numerical computing (HPC performance, massive parallelism, 3D visualization, Big Data).
